Body Lifts are Booming – Top 5 Reasons

A concept quite similar to a face lift, the body lift procedure allows the surgeon to tighten the skin and smooth it out giving it new and younger look. The tightening of the tissues underneath the skin is often part of the body lift procedure. It helps in the removal of any unnecessary fat pockets that might have been created as a result of weight loss or any other reason. This procedure will assist in the elimination of the lose skin.

With the regular advances and growth in the field of medicine and science, the plastic and cosmetic surgery fields have also become very technologically advanced. More and more people are deciding to have these cosmetic procedures to improve and enhance their physical appearance. Recent years have seen a huge boom in the body lift procedures and the number of people opting for this treatment has grown a lot. Top five reasons why the trend of body lifts is on the rise are given below:

1. Excessive weight loss:
Many people believe that the top reason to get a body lift is aging, but this is not exactly true. A body lift is a necessary procedure for people who are highly over weight and then all of sudden lose a lot of weight. This leads to sagging of skin and loss of elasticity to bring the skin and tissues back from the stretched position. This causes the skin to sag and look unattractive. It would be the recommendation from a plastic surgeon that a body lift be done to tighten the loose tissues and skin and smooth it out.

2. Liposuction:
When people undergo liposuction to remove unwanted fat from their bodies, they often end up in deformations of various body parts. In such a situation a body lift is an effective procedure to bring the body back in shape.

3. Body shape changes due to pregnancy:
Many women alter their body shapes due to conception and pregnancy. A body lift is a quick and easy way to stretch out those loose tissues and skin. In many patients of body lifts, the underlying issues of mass are not necessarily tissue, it can be skin as well. The body lift procedure causes the stressed out skin to shape up and come back to its original or even better proportions. It also helps in the reduction and removal of a major pregnancy problem—stretch marks.

4. Affordability:
With the advancements and progress in the field of science and medical procedures, such cosmetic treatments have become very affordable nowadays. That is why more and more people opt for these services as they are no longer limited to the rich and famous of the world.

5. No other options available:
The body lift procedures are mostly opted by people because of the fact that no other treatment to tighten the tissues and skin to bring it back to its original state, is available. This is the only cosmetic procedure that makes it all possible.

Anti aging techniques are used to look younger and this is why cosmetic surgeries have become a lifestyle for many who have the desire to hold on to a youthful look. Skin treatments, injectable liquids, and other procedures can make you look vibrant and youthful once again. Regardless of the long recovery time, people want to reduce visible signs of aging with way that almost immediately pay off. Luckily, today’s advanced anti aging technology allows us to have minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. Here is the list!

1. Botox
As an injectable treatment, Botox provides a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to the patients. The treatment can remove wrinkles and other aging signs, especially for patients who are still in their 40’s and 50’s. Many surgeons offer this less invasive option because of its easiness in terms of procedures to perform. Moreover, with little injections on certain areas on the face, the skin is smooth once again. Botox injections have to be done regularly because aging signs may develop over time. However, the advantage of Botox is that a patient can go back to their normal routine without being disrupted post-procedure.

2. Fillers Fillers are also popular among less invasive treatments incosmetic procedures. The 2015 trend marks a rise in filler injections due to the miracle it gives. Today, many fillers come in various brands and they all have the power to smooth facial skin and make it look plump after aging causes volume loss.

3. Laser Treatment Laser treatment is a minimally invasive procedure because the signs of aging are reduced by laser technology that can improve the skin’s firmness. Moreover, the laser is used to refine the areas on your skin that have been damaged, like scars or wrinkles. Also, laser treatment corrects places on areas such as the mouth and eyes – which are prone to aging signs. If there is any uneven color due to pigmentation, laser treatment can also work on that too. The precise technology allows fail-proof procedures when treating your aging signs.

4. Chemical Peel A chemical peel is considered as a cosmetic procedure that is non-invasive. It removes damages on the outer layer of your skin and also removes the dead skin cells. For scars and freckles, a chemical peel produces fantastic results. However, the procedure needs to be done a couple of times before seeing visible results on your skin.

5. Microdermabrasion Microdermabrasion offers a safe technique when lifting the aging signs out of your face. With many blemishes often appearing on the outer layer of your skin, microdermabrasion
can help to eliminate those blemishes because it targets the epidermis cells with a painless and harmless procedure. Moreover, the side effects are less than any other cosmetic procedure; which is why, it is often preferable. As a non-surgical method, microdermabrasion removes uneven pigmentation and exfoliates the skin to lessen the appearance of scars or marks. It promotes collagen production for a youthful and vibrant result. As we know, collagen is needed for skin firmness.

New Study Suggests Obesity Tied to Risk of Complications After Plastic Surgery

Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Risks Increased for Obese Patients

People who are struggling with weight loss, who may be considered obese have upwards of 35 percent chance to experience complications after a plastic surgery procedure as normal-weight patients. Many times people who are obese are admitted back into the hospital within thirty days after the operation. This highlights the vital need to be informing obese patients about the increased risks they face when having surgical procedures.

It’s very important that the surgeon educate his patients about the risk they face or potential complications before undergoing any procedure. Plastic Surgeons should be responsible for managing the health conditions the patient has presently so not endanger them when doing a new procedure. This is important for the patients to know because some insurance companies are known to not cover additional procedures that may arise because of complications.

Researchers led by Michelle Sieffert, a physician , of Wright State U had taken the time to examine the patient data of over 48,000 adults who had elective surgery. The procedures that were studied ran the gamut from tummy tucks, eyelid surgery, liposuction to breast augmentation and the conclusion was pointing to the fact there seemed to a correlation with complications and obesity.

About 4 % of the patients were categorized as obese. It was also noticed based on the provided data that these patients had higher rates of other chronic diseases related to their weight. The patients weight also figured into the type of conditions they had and they included heart disease, high blood pressure and even mental health problems.

The new study determined that over 7 percent of patients with severe weight problems had emergency room visits within 30 days of the procedure as compared to about 4 percent of the patients deemed to be normal-weight.

It was also found that patients with three or more health issues who had Abdomioplasty had the highest rate of visits to the hospital. On another note 3.2 percent of the patients developed complications within 30 days after their procedure compared to 0.9 percent of those who were not considered obese. The patients who experienced these complications also experienced increased health costs to the tune of $3,900 after liposuction, $7,000 after a abdomioplasty and $7,400 higher after a breast reduction surgery.
